VARIOUS INFORMATIONS gathered in ONGoing research-….

BADUGU language(i mean not literature) is 4000 YEARS OLD ! New linguistic analysis finds Dravidian language family is approximately 4,500 years old by Max Planck Society Map of the Dravidian languages in India, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Nepal. Languages present in the data set used in this paper are indicated by name, with languages with long (950+ years) literatures in bold. Credit: Kolipakam et al. A Bayesian phylogenetic study of the Dravidian language family. Royal Society Open Science (2018). The origin of the Dravidian language family, consisting of about 80 varieties(including Kannada, Tulu(ThuLu),Tamil(Thamiz'), BADUGU, Kodava,etc,.......) totally spoken by 220 million people across southern and central India and surrounding countries, can be dated to about 4,500 years ago. This estimate is based on new linguistic analyses by an international team, including researchers from the Max Planck Institute for the Science of Human History, that used data collected first-hand from native speakers representing all previously reported Dravidian subgroups. These findings, published in Royal Society Open Science, match well with earlier linguistic and archaeological studies. Findings of an important group for understanding human dispersal from Africa and later large-scale migrations - to South Asia, REACHING from AFGHANISTAN IN THE WEST and BANGLADESH IN THE EAST, IS HOME TO AT LEAST SIX HUNDRED LANGUAGES(INCLUDING BADUGU) belonging to six large language families, including Dravidian, Indo-European, and Sino-Tibetan. The Dravidian language family, consisting of about 80 language varieties (both languages and dialects) is today spoken by about 220 million people, mostly in southern and central India but Also in surrounding countries,including Baluchistan. Its four largest languages, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam have LITERARY traditions spanning centuries, of which Tamil reaches back the furthest. Along with Sanskrit, Tamil is one of the world's classical languages with developed literatures(poems, texts,songs). INTERESTINGLY though the literature of Badugu didn't see the light of Developed Literature, BADUGU "Language" is STILL OLDER ! "The study of the Dravidian languages is crucial for understanding prehistory in Eurasia, as they played a significant role in influencing other language groups," explains corresponding author Annemarie Verkerk of the Max Planck Institute for the Science of Human History. Neither the geographical origin of the Dravidian language nor its exact dispersal through time is known with certainty. The consensus of the research community is that the Dravidians are natives of the Indian subcontinent and were present prior to the arrival of the Indo-Aryans (Indo-European speakers) in India around 3,500 years ago. It is likely that the Dravidian languages were much more widespread to the west in the past than they are today. Advanced statistical methods and hand-collected data lead to robust results In order to examine questions about when and where the Dravidian languages developed, the researchers made a detailed investigation of the historical relationships of 20 Dravidian varieties. Study author Vishnupriya Kolipakam of the Wildlife Institute of India collected contemporary first-hand data from native speakers of a diverse sample of Dravidian languages, representing all the previously reported subgroups of Dravidian. The researchers used advanced statistical methods to infer the age and subgrouping of the Dravidian language Family at about 4,000-4,500 years old. This estimate, while in line with suggestions from previous linguistic studies, is a more robust result because it was found consistently in the majority of the different statistical models of evolution tested in this study. This age also matches well with inferences from archaeology, which have previously placed the diversification of Dravidian into North, Central, and South branches at exactly this age, coinciding with the beginnings of cultural developments evident in the archaeological record. Future research would be needed to clarify the relationships between these branches and to examine the geographical history of the language family. "Here we have a really exciting opportunity to investigate the interactions between these people, and other cultural groups in the area such as Indo-European and Austro-Asiatic on one of the great crossroads of human prehistory," states author Simon Greenhill of the Max Planck Institute for the Science of Human History. The oldest languages and the 'origin time-slot' of BADUGU and Kodava in it

Many EARLY WRITTEN languages, such as Sumerian, Akkadian, and Egyptian, used Cuneiform SCRIPT and date back at least 4,600 years. Historians agree these are among the Oldest languages with clear WRITTEN records, though all are now extinct.

The Oldest ‘Still-SPOKEN’ languages’, Hebrew and Arabic are notable. Their written evidence dates back around 3,000 years. It is understandable that all these originated in African area, the area of human origin, are the Oldest. The spoken or written and now-extinct languages and others are Afroasiatic and which traces back to 20,000 to 10,000 years !!

In AkhaNda Bhaarath, Samskrutha (said to be the languages of the God) was a SPOKEN language around more than 4500 or 5000 years and all Vedhaas are in Samskrutha which dates back to around 5000 years, coinciding with Raamayana, Mahaabhaaratha. It influenced ALL Indhian languages(so now, around 40 to 60 percent of Indhian languages’ words originated from Samskrutha; also it’s words are found in some foreign languages like Hebrew, Inglish etc, ). Badugu is of no exception and has many Sanskrit(mispronunciation by british) words from ANCIENT times; Only recently, in 1968, Scrpit originated and before that it had no script and only a spoken language; but still it is more older than the period of existence of Baduga people in ‘AkhaNda’ Neelagiri. The linguist and researcher from France, Dr.  Christiane Pilot-Raichoor studied and researched Badugu language for 20 years and declared that Badugu is an independent and unique language and it is not a dialect of Kannada. Prof Paul Hockings also endorsed it. So Badugu language, is older than 3000 years(only spoken) coinciding with the ‘COMMON LANGUAGE’ of south -- pre-southern languages(like Kannada,Tamil ); that is why Badugu has some similar words like Kannda but In Fact, is an indigenous language(spoken form) and it’s grammar or structure of sentences are different from Kannada. And like Kannada and Thamiz, Badugu also has many Samskrutha words from ancient times and hence it is still used as native word, unknowingly; hence it can’t be replace and also it is Wise to use them as it was used by our Baduga ancestors. {Some Badugu words which originated from Samskrutha :- sandhOsha, dhukka, saeve’, samaadhaana, sangha, dhaesa, amma, samudhra, etc, }

Like Badugu, Kodava thakka (Kodava language) also broke off from the Proto-south Dravidian GROUP of languages about 3000 years ago. Like Badugu, Kodava thakka as has been established by linguists, is an independent Dravidian language, with its own unique sounds. But over time it borrowed words from the languages spoken in the neighbouring areas-Kannada, ThuLu & later on from MalayaaLam. Kodava language is also a spoken language and only recently script was developed. As Kodavanaadu was attached with Karnataka Kannada script was used but it can not be used to represent their Unique sounds and hence they devoleped their own script. Remember that Badugu dhesa(Badaga naadu) was annexed with Madras state and Tamil script can't be used for the unique sounds and many consonants like ga, ba, da, etc,. ; Badugu language also has unique sounds and to represent all sounds of Badugu this Badugu script was develped in 1968. Some Unique sounds of Badugu are: qua/qwa, gua, fa'', ja''(somewhat like za)..
